Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suit on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourselves. Choose your future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin' else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you've got heroin?

Classic bold trad routes in rugged areas unlike most crags in North America.

sungam wrote: Just wondering what people form outside the UK think of climbing in Scotland. What comes to mind? Routes/styles/areas/etc.. As a 15 year old who was afraid of heights, my first climbing "idol" was Dougal Haston. I read everything I could find about his exploits and was particularly fond of Robin Smith's account "The Bat And The Wicked" about their route on the Carn Dearg Buttress of Ben Nevis. Since then my mental image of Scottish climbing is one of hard, run-out adventure climbing on semi-alpine terrain, sometimes on verglassed and rime coated faces. Something like these: I'll also throw in Hammish MacInnes, pterodactyls, heather, and peat bogs as images.

4 things i think of. 1st is the crazy fucker billy, reminding us what a MAN is. 2nd, the movie brave heart, and how inaccurate it is... (why to this day do we need to be lied to just to make things more interesting?o0) 3rd, toilets you can swim in. 4th... boyle, both of them.. Im sure climbing comes in around this point

Bold, classic, and relatively low altitude alpine climbs with terrible weather.
