I'm rehabbing an ACL surgery right now, and as intrigued as I am by all of the Russian aider chat that I've read in my convalescence, I'm worried that hanging by my knees for a week straight would be a torture of the worst kind. Has anyone w/ bad knees used these things? Opinions?

You really don't feel like your hanging from your knees at all. Your foot takes the weight.

The only problem I can see is getting your knee pads just right with the rig. You might have to experement. Rock On, John

Melissa,

Based on my one-day experience on the Russians take this for what its worth:

Range of motion might be the hardest thing on your recovering knees, if you are hooking above the 3rd set of rings from the top those top rings require a fully bent knee (literally knee in chest). Most of the time, I was not putting both aiders on the same piece and so was pushing my whole body weight on that flexed knee and then pressing it to full extension. When using the lowest set of non-bounce test rings (lowest paired set), It was like standing up from sitting a chair on one leg (90 degrees to full extension).

But I not sure that I was doing it right either???
