How unscrupulous be the thought that aid climbing, although not appealing to some, will not in the least slightest fashion, fascinate minds set on any particular form of climbing. Aid climbing: the magnification of theories concerning man versus rock, high upon the flat surface of many gritty substances hearing only the slight whistling of the wind, the hot sun beating upon your back as you carefully concentrate on placing the next protection. How intriguing. Most recently I have divulged into my fascination with the very different world of aid climbing. More precious is a man's gear there, and more precious is it to hold on to your thoughts, and even more precious is it to not $#!& yourself on the scariest of pitches. Although pressing physical climbing limits, provoking the mind to press the boundaries of what the body is actually capable of physically achieving is wherein my true climbing concentrations lie. However, because aid climbing has been and will continue to be entirely differing from my current and undisputed notions of other forms of climbing, it is even more so appealing of me. I wish to taste it. I wish to be high upon the flat surfaces of the Yosemite babies. High above the many trees in the Valley, on the stone known as El Capitain, infamous amongst even those who know naught of the sport of big walling such as myself. Before I die, I do so ever wish to experience what is known as aid climbing, and wish to do so in the most perfect of instances. I can only dream of what can be felt on an aid climb, yet you have experienced it. I have always dreamed of aid climbing feelings, yet you have felt them as a reality. What do you feel as you climb?

Holy loquaciousness, Batman! Put down the Shakespear and grab your harness, dude. What do I feel? Terrified. As it should be if you're doin' it right. Ed [ This Message was edited by: up2top on 2003-01-02 17:16 ]
