Hi, I am about to replace a SS wedge bolt but have not placed a glue-in before. Using Sika Anchorfix and 3/8 SS rod stock. Considering using 1/2 threaded rod stock now, too. Looking at this thread, http://www.rockclimbing.com/forum/Community_C10/Campground_F32/You_are_not_wanted_here._P2217755-512 The guy advises drilling 1/8 bigger than the threaded stock. Anchorfix's spec data advises drilling 1/16 bigger. So... What gives?

And in between were enough spelling errors to give Webster an aneurism. Is that really who you want to get advice from?

With threaded rod 1/16" bigger is plenty since you have all of the volume between the threads for the glue to fill as well. You would probably be okay drilling a full 1/8" bigger, but why not just go with what the manufacturer recommends?
