I prefer the old-school mechanical SLRs. Anyone else? Or are you all digital?

The AE1 was my first slr. Once I was able to make prints as sharp as medium format I switched and have not looked back. Most types of film and paper that I liked are no longer made and scanning slides is pure hell.

I have an A1 which I take on expeditions cause I trust that click but digital is also good cause you could review your result instantly. I think classic SLR makes people better photographer and digital brings that final touch.
Without understanding the classic SLR IMO, you can not take a good picture.

I had Pentax SLR's back in the day when 35mm was the only choice. Now I prefer the Cannon EOS digitals....even the EOS Rebel's take amazing pics and offer a variety of modes to shoot from - being fully Auto, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, etc.

I still have my AE-1 program and I take it on trips from time to time. The images are great, the lenses can be had for incredibly cheap if you know where to look, and developing (or waiting for developing) really adds to the fun and excitement of it. Plus, people get really excited whenever they see it and hear the real mechanical click of an old school camera like this.
I had a nice DSLR (Canon 10D) a few years back, and had it not been stolen, I might have forgot about the AE-1 altogether, but I'm glad I got to rekindle that relationship.
