Exact same thing happen last year except thumb fell to base and was reattached ( detail will be published in 2012 ANAM).

Who needs a hospital to reattach your thumb when all you need is an 80-foot fall to do it.

Been on supertopo for days and I haven't seen a mention of the death on the NW face of Half Dome here either.

true, except sometimes those from the real world just can't talk about it in eworld. Their detail is under investigation
