It's only 50 (but it comes in a 55 version if you can find it). Based on what you said, not great for winter, but for alpine? Sure, why not?

Did a really nice ARC yesterday for a half hour. I am getting a little fitter and can spend part of the time on the 15 degree wall. I used to spend all of it there, so hopefully I will get back to that and beyond.

Not sure. I was just saying that I really like my pack, that I think it'd be good for alpine, but that, according to your recommendations, it's too small for winter use.

I'm kind of surprised. It always seemed to me to be one of those routes that folks wouldn't chop, but I guess after last year's debacle with the film crew, someone probably felt that it had to be done.

I remember reading an article titled "Chopping Cerro Torre" when I just started gym climbing. I had no idea what it was about.

Ah, gotcha. If I'm going ultra-lite I can certainly do a trip with a 45. But for multi-day winter mountaineering, it would be too small.
