Looking very optimistic that I'll be moving to the Blacksburg area for work in the next month or so. I'd like to get more experience climbing and I was hoping I could find some knowledgable people who'd be willing to go run some routes with a novice. I'd also be interested in finding some people who'd be interested in going to the rock gyms in the area. Moving from Florida, the climbing down here isn't all its cracked up to be.

you'll find plenty of climbers around Bburg. A new gym just opened called Crimpers and I hear good things.
best part is you will be just a 2 hour drive from some of the best climbing in the US, the New River Gorge.
Also there are some good local crags and bouldering nearby. And the buildering on VT campus can be good too.
