why're you ruling out tahquitz and suicide? Check out the riverside rock quarry. INCREDIBLE sport routes, super long and fun. Get there early so you get the morning shade.

We're looking at going this weekend and forecast has Idyllwild at being over 100 F... We are considering the Quarry, well thats actually the only option we really know of that close enough lol

All the forecasts I checked ranged from high 70s to mid 80s. It will feel much cooler if you're in the shade.

ya, just double checked it for saturday. low: 64 F high: 102 F I dont have a full rack so tahquitz would more than likely not be a possibility, Idk how much shade there is on Suicide, so if its possible to avoid being in that kind of heat, i would gladly consider it

A temperature of over 100 degrees F is highly unlikely. According to the National Weather Service website, the forecast high for Saturday is 88 degrees F. Jay

Suicide gets a lot of sun. It does go in the shade late in the day, but I can't recall what time. Forgot to mention Holcomb, that might be another good option, but I don't know which areas get the best shade. Of course if it actually hits 100 degrees at 6000' at tahquitz it will probably be way too hot to climb anywhere. http://classic.wunderground.com/...ery=33.7607,-116.679

Well, I'll go ahead and trust the nation weather report. So in the realm of sport climbing, Holcomb and Suicide look pretty awesome... If anyone has climbed at both, which would you choose? Me and my climbing partner climb at 5.10c at the Quarry

While many climbs are bolted at Suicide, it is certainly not in the realm of sport climbing.

Holcomb was beautiful!! We climbed Wilbur is Turning in his Grave, High Noon, Thunderbird, and Bye Crackie. Totally understand the lines thing now, sooo many people, but it was a beautiful day with some amazing routes, glad we made the trip
