I just finished reading Coach's post and I wondered to myself, what are they talking about rebooting problems. It does it sometimes, but wasn't a big deal. Then I tried to view the community list and it happened..... This site is bouncing around like a kid with ADD all hopped up in fun dip and mountain dew... bad website, bad.. now go and sit in the corner. what? its clear in CO? man... I think its also not snowing up the hill SO, snowshoeing would suck. all icey and slushy and rainy and not worth it! How far is your town? I think its like 1 hr 45 min for me to get to the crag we talked about. how far from it are you? [ This Message was edited by: alpinelynx on 2003-01-09 11:43 ]

I contacted Trevor about the problem and just got a PM back from him that they just bought 1 Gb of memory and once it is installed it should help alleviate the problem. He feels it is more an issue of the amount of activity rather than the size of the database and it should clear up with more memory. Climb On

one can always use more memory. I know I could. its good to see positive action being taken. Otherwise this would be a shame if the site died, or went comatose...

I read the first two pages of this thing..and can not believe I didn't know all that was going to happen today! I would have tried to pull an early arrising if I had know this place was going to have all the fun in the morning! And Marmot's in trouble because he didn't tell me about howitzers idea! I have got to stop being responsible and getting work done..I miss way too much at theis place! And here I could have called up on my old roleplaying favorate from years back. The Ogre sized man covered in red hair who dances on and breaks the pub tables, who's beer mug is the keg and all while womanizing all the women at once! Damn...see the fun I missed!

You'll never fill up a 10 MB hard drive. 640k of RAM is all you'll ever need.

Good morning to you too! It is really too bad we all live so far from each other...I could use a good snowshoeing trip as well! The trick is to find the blasted snow...but it's sunny here..so that's a good start! I'll try to wish some of it your way!

Looks over at Anne...grins wickedly...grabs a keg and hands it off to her... Here ya go Mr. "gentleman"! Drink that and the women will think all the more of yea! Looks around to see what "ladies" there are to scoop up and bounce on his big burly furry knees!

Marmot and Danny, You guys are really taking me back a few years! I remember way back when I purchased new computers for our headquarters )1st generation 486's) and we thought we were the $#!&z! Had huge harddives (250 Mb) and unlimited RAM (16K)! Everyone kept telling us that we would never use it all up! Rule of thumb within the Communications/Information Systems field was that the requirement will always grow to use up all of the available hardware (and then some!). My first computer in the Corps was one of the early generation Zenith Supersports notebooks! Remember those? Had and amazing 4.8 Kb modem. When the finally offered the 9.6 we thought we were in heaven! My desktop model was an old 886 with a removable 120 Mb harddrive! Today my PDA makes all that stuff look silly! Climb On

Allright you "geeks" take the computer crap out of this place! Can't you see Mr. Anne Gentleman and I are trying to drink a few kegs and round up some women! Glares around the room and shakes his ham fist at all the ninnies!
