Looks like I'll be moving out east! Been climbing 8 years and I'm looking for people that wouldn't mind showing me around the area. What's near by?

Grayson Highlands, Seneca Rocks, Franklin, the New River Gorge, Old Rag, Elizabeth Furnace, and the Obed are all within a reasonable driving distance of you.

Nothing great nearby. I'm no expert, but I don't even know of anything good nearby. One of two reasons I haven't moved to that area. Under three hours to the New is good though! Anyone know of place good destinations that are close?

Ya it looks like I'll be climbing at the new a lot. That's cool I drive farther every weekend as it is now.

You have a few small areas around you but the New would be the best most developed area. Rockfish Gap Turnpike has a few crags, Shenandoah valley has decent climbing. Just get out and hike around and you will find rock more than likely if your in the mountains...I was in the same boat when I moved to the Kentucky/Virginia border. I found nothing about climbing within 2 hours of me but I just started going to State parks and hiking trails and have found a ton of rock.
