I'm making a trip out to Red Rock Canyon in December/January, but I can't seem to get anybody to come along with me. Is the climbing culture in the area friendly/inclusive enough that I'd be able to make some new friends and find folks to climb with?

Thanks!

from my experience in Late October and Early November you should have no problem finding partners at the campsite. There's a message board, only difficult thing is most people get back to their campsite after dark if you're thinking of wandering site to site looking for partners.

The campground sucks, so a lot of people stay elsewhere, or go out to eat instead of cooking at the campground. From the one time I stayed there camping, I didn't get a feel that it was easy to find a partner there, but I didn't need to.

But there are posts asking for partners there all the time.

Look here for some recent ones to see if any of them are a good match for you:

Finding a partner for the sport climbing areas on the weekends should be easy enough. Finding a partner for the longer canyon routes on a weekday (or anytime really) will be a lot tougher.
