I had a trad belaying accident last year where the first piece of protection came out and the climber basically landed on my head. Severe back and whiplash type pain since on the right hand side. I cant belay now for more than a few minutes without feeling discomfort. I cant go on trips with my dad climbing now - unless there are other people to belay. Pretty annoying. I saw the add for Belaggles belay glasses - has anyone tried them? They are $80 so not too bad but still its a big investment for me.

It's generally considered bad form to make a second account pretending to be a curious third party to hawk your product.

Just sayin'.

I just purchased a pair. Once I test them, I will write a review.

Never had anyone land on my head, but I can vouch for my CU Belay glasses.

Check them out at: http://www.powernplayusa.com/

We bought a pair ages ago. I wear prescription glasses and the belay glass have a metal edge that would scratch my glasses, so I can't use them ... they'd be impractical for me anyway. My wife used them for a little while but they seemed to much of a hassle.

I saw a guy using them in a gym once (Momentum in SLC). Seemed odd but c'est la vie.

I guess if you're used to wearing glasses they might be OK, but as someone who only wears sunglasses they'd be a royal PITA for me.

Belay glassesCrazy

Good god, climbing is hitting the toilet far faster than I feared. Now we're in the septic tank.

What an idiot...

My response has nothing to do with climbing 5.14. It has everything to do with the complete pussification of climbing by people like you.

Yes. Why would people who are not 100% able bodied even want to climb. Loosers. If you are not climbing 5.14 barefoot then you are just bringing the sport into disrepute. Similarly, I saw a guy climbing with one leg the other day and he had tried to overcome his disability by sticking a piece of plastic on the end with a shoe on - urrgggh - climbing is really in the toilet - septic tank no less.

Crack lover - that you are because your head is right up one - whether you are tied in or not. I hope please I can be removed from this forum. I have tried to suspend/delete the account but its seemingly impossible.

I, too, "hope please that [you] can be removed from this forum."

In general, I'm opposed to a person being able to request the wholesale obliteration of his or her posts to a forum, but in your case I'd argue that an exception should be made.

Yes - if [you] support comments such as 'complete pussification of the sport' we really do not belong in the same space.

That's the first accurate thing you have said. Do everybody a favor and stay in the gym. It's safer there.

You are that old guy from j tree. I just checked your profile. I know you. And you know all the people I climb with. Very well in fact. Will be interesting when we meet. I wonder if you will abuse me to my face. Probably. Also - the glasses - got them - they are great. At potosi today belaying on that gigantic roof and they work a treat. I recommend them who anyone who can take a bit tong lashing from our mr nasty. Mr nasty - swap your keyboard for a fingerboard as you have a lot of strength gains to make if you are who you say you are.

Don't confuse product endorsements for reality. Sponsored climbers are just that. Sponsored.

While I fully understand what you're saying about sponsered climbers you have either fully missed the point of what I was getting at or just don't give a fuck about your misogynistic language.

I am looking forward to this weekend where I'll continue to do my part to contribute to the pussification of climbing.

Dude, fuck off. I didn't even post in this retarded thread of yours. Get a clue - your friend socalclimber has a quote of mine as his tag line. He and I are different people.

Oh, and for the record, I'm "pussy" enough to wear belay glasses (the CU Belay ones), and I have no problem with that. But I will personally warn everyone against buying your brand of begoggles or whatever stupid name you call them.

As for removing yourself from the forum - it's easy, just stop posting. Oh, and don't start posting as another new pseudo-user.
