I'm buying my first dynamic rope. I don't want to break the bank buying the rope and I'll be moving to SoCal soon so dry treated isn't really necessary.
It will be used for mostly top roping and definitely want something 10+ mm.
I've narrowed it down to either the Bluewater Eliminator or the Mammut Apex.
Does anyone have experience with either of these ropes and which one would you recommend and why?

A friend has the eliminator. Good work-horse rope. Go for it.

Buy the least expensive rope. You will most likely trash it on TR anyway. Once you get to the point of leading then you'll want a thinner rope anyway. Keep the old 10.5 for top roping.

Thanks. Is there really going to be a difference between a 10.2 and 10.5 rope in terms of durability and strength? I was leaning towards the Apex for that durability reasons but not sure how much that matters with these two thicknesses.

Forget strength its not an issue. The thicker it is the more durable. In the end you will end up with 2 ropes. A nice lead rope and a TR rope. Eventually you will only have a lead rope.
How much abuse you put into it depends on how the anchors are rigged. If they go over an edge then that will put a lot of wear on the rope.
IMO buy the cheapest rope.

Rock N ice nailed it. re-read his post if you are still confused. Biggest cheapest one you can. The difference between a 10.2 and a 10.5 are nothing, buy the cheapest.
Note that as said, setup is important: additionally, using 2 biners of equal size at your power point (2 large steel lockers is what I use) to reduce the bend in the rope will increase your rope life.

I also don't think you'll notice the difference in wear, so go for the cheaper rope.
