Probably still not for a couple years, but we are craving less city and more nature trails right outside our front door that include more than the chaparral we haz here. Matt wants snow... I don't mind as long as he is the one shoveling (ask me again about this comment after 1 winter :P ) hmmm wonder where we shuld go I really don't like Colorado, but in my experience there they can get a foot of snow one day and it'll be gone the next. That doesn't happen in the northeast because it normally stays cold throughout the winter (with some occasional bursts of sunshine, of course). But from what I've gathered in CO is that it can get cold enough to snow a lot one day and be in the mid-50s the next. of course, it depends on where you are. My experience is east of the Rockies mostly. Snow also sucks. I mean, it's really nice and pretty when it's all white and fluffy and falling and sitting on the trees and you're out walking before the plows have hit and there's no one on the street and it's romantic and...and then the sand trucks come; the snow turns brown; the bastard neighbor doesn't throw sand down and there's a sheet of ice under that pretty, untouched, fluffy shit causing you slip and break your spinal cord; it melts just enough to look like ice on the surface but is actually a puddle of frozen water that goes up to your fucking ankle when you're wearing your work shoes coming back from lunch at the diner across the street; there's no place to park your damn car because all the snow is pushed up against the sidewalk; there's no place to walk because all the snow is pushed up against the sidewalk; you gotta shovel it; you gotta shovel it again when the plow goes by; you gotta shovel it again when the fucking plow goes by again; you gotta shovel it again when...fuck it, you get the point. But hey, it's LOVELY to ski in! That pretty much sums it up... LOL! I think it would be pure comedy to live near us if we moved someplace with snow... I'm born and raised Southern California and Matt was born and raised in Hawaii... it would be a miracle if we survived a winter :P Cheap house for sale on my street... foreclosure :)

And another interview. woohoo: http://www.gregmasonburns.com/...-gazeta-do-povo.html This one is MUCH better than the one on TV, and the good thing is that this made the front page of the newspaper's online edition. Check it out. The article is short (and I have an English link, too), and the video is only a couple of minutes (shorter than the TV one). Pretty happy with it.

Greg, I tend to give you loads of crap from time to time and all of it in always in jest. We met while you were in a transition period and I have followed you (albeit without reading your blog!) since then. It's been quite awesome seeing you make a transition in your life and completely uprooting yourself to redefine who you are. Keep on going! Nice work and it's great to see that you are making a name for yourself down there.

Nice work and it's great to see that you are making a name for yourself down there. I never took it as crap. I took it as veiled jealousy. Just kidding of course. (had to? ) Thanks, appreciated. It's been a damn long road, and it's still a difficult one going forward. Getting people to buy art is really tough, especially here. But I have a good place now. I'm no fan of Brasil, but the Lady is really supportive of me and she wants me to succeed as much as I want to, and she's responsible for a lot of my media attention (it helps being attached to a journalism, communications, and media relations professor eh? ). It's difficult not knowing where the next paycheck will come from, or if I'll make rent, or when I'll get to see my family again...but I don't regret the decisions I've made. Do I wish I had done things differently? Maybe a little, but not fundamentally. My hope is to get people to buy prints for the upcoming Christmas season. The website that I sell my prints at primarily (click here) works in a way that the more you sell then the more you sell. I'm getting a fair amount of attention, but only a few sales at this point. Fingers are crossed Christmas is good to me. I've also learned a valuable lesson here. Not sure what's happening, but the more I give my art away...the more it drives sales. Am I making money? No, but I am getting exposure through it, so we'll see what 2014 and beyond bring. Cheers... Greg

Went to Malibu creek this weekend and learned a few things - I really really need to train more on overhanging climbs - I really really suck at following a traversing 11a (of which I likely would have sucked on even if it went straight up) - I really really should put some effort into finding my lead head again - I really really don't like the la area... and a lot of people from the la area :P also watched a guy back clip 3 clips in a row... a girl I know ended up saying something and they argued until the guy realized that he was in fact back clipped

The left coast must have the same deal.
