Seriously???? There are plenty of ways into the good spots. And if you are so hell-bent on getting her to a picturesque location why not the beaches near Cutler or take a nice drive up the 1 to Quoddy Head / Eastport area. Regardless, the foliage is going to be awesome.

Regardless, the foliage is going to be awesome. we only have two days, so no time to leave the island, and we don't have any time to spend hiking either, as the purpose of this part of the trip is to visit the grandmothers. my hope was to just take her and one grandmother out to the ocean drive and atop cadillac. I think we'll end up seeing stuff via the town.

Edited 279 photos to 72. Working on processing now and should have them up NLT tomorrow. There are tons of areas *not* National Park that are open. I think most people associate National Park with just about every other federally managed public land. I was gambling on that this weekend and it paid off big time. We had a hot spring to ourselves! i'm hearing that from a lot of people actually. depends on where you go and who you talk to. i have a friend who claimed to have convinced someone that the areas around north conway were closed. not sure how successful it was overall, but it was worth a try.

What I heard was FS and BLM land were open. But campgrounds, picnic grounds, and some FS roads gated closed. I supposed they're all open now.

I'd check with your accommodations, though. Some hotels are in a no-flush zone still. The wedding had to be completely rearranged as a result of this. But the park is open. Not everything is open for driving, but we went in a few times with no problems.
