The ANF has put out their scoping document with regards to Williamson Rock. The Allied Climbers of San Diego have been working hard on this issue for years. We've summarized the latest step the ANF is taking on our website:

http://alliedclimbers.org/...ion-alert-williamson

Please take the time to respond to this issue, even if you've never climbed there. This is public land, and NF policy affects us all. We've summarized bullet points on our website to make response easy for everyone.

Thank you for your time!

President of ACSD

Josh,
I used to climb at Williamson, so, please dont think I'm responding for no reason. The issue for the ANF is more than the falcons. Your recommended bullet points don't mention the two other species that they are concerned with (frogs and plant). I think the letters will be more effective if they address the three species, not just one.

I believe you're referring to:

Mountain Yellow Legged Frog
Peregrine Falcon
A species of Buckwheat

We have bullet points related to both MYLF and the falcon. The Buckwheat issue is probably mitigated by redirecting the trail to the "long trail" as the ANF proposed.

Thanks for your input!

Josh

The MYLF is discussed in these 2 bullets:

o ACSD opposes any permanent or seasonal closure for the MYLF that is not limited to the immediate streambed area.

o ACSD supports the closure of the streambed area and streambed-based climbing routes

Please send in your comments. Jan 24 deadline.
