Hi
I'm going to be making a trip through france this summer and wanted to get ideas on the best places to visit. I'm mostly searching for sport climbing. Thanks for the suggestions!

What range of grades do you want to climb? Gorge du tarn is amazing esp if climbing 5.12 and higher.

My favorite is Gorges du Verdon. Awesome exposure and many routes to choose from. Easy approach, usually drive to the top of the climbs.
Orpierre is good for a less ambitious climber too; some hard stuff but mostly reasonable grades and ease of access.
Calanques near Marseille are awesome; just have to catch shade in summer. Can't beat the seaside climbing.

Hey,
I will go to Calanques at the end of April, too.
Very excited to look forward for this climb.
Any body can give some ideas on it?
Will buy you a drink after a climb in Calanques.

The Verdon has a shady side in summer. It will get hot and the Calanques may be closed due to fire hazard then, too.
En Vau had a high concentration of climbs in your range. Bring a rack of nuts, single cams and hexes with slings etc. We brought a 70m.
Did a few classic routes. One, Doigt de Dieu was very polished at the start. A 5.10 spire over the water.
We also did this pillar over the beach: Pilier droit de la Passerelle. I left the rack behind and soloed lots.
