When I open recent posts I get the ad that pops up on the left corner and goes half way down the page. It blocks me from seeing the latest thread topics. Also as I'm writing this the add is up again. Doesn't do it on the home page

That's annoying and shouldn't be happening.
Ads are loaded from partners into our layout boxes, so this could be caused by either bad layout code or ad code that breaks out of the designated layout.
It's not happening for me, so I suspect it's caused by a specific ad that's breaking out of the layout.
What company was the ad for?
Once you tell me that, I can go to the ad networks and ask them to fix the code for that particular campaign.
