Hi,

Wondering whether anyone has information or contacts regarding climbing in Iran. My girlfriend and I are considering a trip to visit the country - and we'd love to climb if possible. I haven't found much beta (other than online trekking agencies) online.

Thanks,

DA.

It's worth a shot to try Majid. He might be able to help.

The American Alpine Club also did an exchange with Iran a couple years back. A couple of my friends were in the USA group and they thoroughly enjoyed it. But they had an organization to keep them organized.

Try contacting the AAC for more info. If you need more info, PM me and I can hook you up.

You may also try contacting the Iran Mountaineering and Sport Climbing Federation. Google for the website address. It may help if you are a member of an Alpine Club or climbing Federation, and can supply a letter to support that.

If you're an American, Iran doesent exactly sound like the place to go on vacation.

Stop being such a puppet! If you look up the travel warnings for America from other countries it'll give you much of the same advice and tell you to be careful because America is at war and was attacked by terrorist and we all own weapons.
