Hi everyone. If you're not doing anything July 8, 2014 we could really use some belayers. This is the Over the Edge event to help raise funds for the Make a Wish Foundation for the kids. For those of you that don't know the Make a Wish Foundation is a non profit organization that raises money for sick/dying kids to help them get their life long wish. This upcoming event will be held at the Barclay Centre on 4 St and 6 Ave. Sponsors will be rapping off the top of this 15 story (205') building to raise money for the kids. The organization is currently short 8 belayers. If you want to help out for a great cause you can sign up at this link...

Thanks everyone

You might want to contact darkside (Grant Parkins) - don't know if he is available but he'll have more contacts in Calgary.

He doesn't post here anymore, but I think he's still posting on gravsports.

What is the time commitment? It does make it tough that it's on a weekday.

The event is from 7am - 3pm. Won't need to be there all day as they will be doing shifts. But if anyone can be there all day that would be very helpful.

Like I have time for posting on GS-I even these days. Anyway David's email got my attention and yes I could help if I knew more. I'll PM my phone number, call me with some details but I need to know asap to make it happen with work.

************UPDATE*****************

So I finally had an email from Over The Edge USA and that 7am-3pm is actually 6.15am to 5pm plus the day before for training and a webinar.

I was rather looking forward to being able to help out so even arranged for the requested 7am-3pm cleared with work but being asked to take two unpaid days off work and during Stampede week to boot.... just won't work.

Sorry, I guess you still need volunteers. You might want to be a little more upfront about the commitment when asking people to volunteer their help.
