I have some 7/8" spider silk that I want to thread through 1" tubular webbing (both lengths are 90'). What's the best way to do this? Do you need some kind of special equipment or is there some kind of special trick? Thanks.

I have threaded mtn tools ultratape though webbing using a coat hanger. It was 30' long, though.

I don't have an answer, I'm just curious, why are you threading the spider silk? I assume it's to protect it rather then any change in behaviour.

A small (small enough to fit into the webbing) but heavy object to attach to the spider silk to guide it through the webbing?

I'm threading it through partly to protect the spider silk and partly as a backup. Even though tubular webbing is not as strong as spider silk, it stretches much more. 2.5% elongation is the WLL for spider silk and it has 3000lbs of tension at that elongation. At the same elongation, the tubular webbing might only have 200ish lbs of tension on the material. So if the spider silk somehow broke, the tubular webbing would sag in the middle, but still save your life if it's a highline.

I assume you'll be using another backup as well? I don't fancy the idea of only having some tubular as a backup.
Smart thinking protecting the spider silk, though, that shit is expensive!
