I could go somewhere else, but the three most convenient ones all have a long wait. Aug 20 I can get in though. Or I could suck it up and go in w/o an appointment. *shudder*

I do know that the FA was on in situ gear, and most other ascents have been as well. There are a few true gear placing red points out there. I suspect part of the reason it gets pinpointed is because it's so damn steep cleaning it must suck, and might have to be done on jugs. I bet a couple of those nuts are fixed too.

It's a thing. otherwise anyone who lost ID on a trip would never get home. I was sort of ok because I had my credit cards and other stuff with my name on it. I got the full body scan plus rubber glove style pat down, and they looked in my bag and swabbed it for stuff. I've heard (from my brother and loyerette's mom) that if you have nothing, they take you into the back room and ask you a ton of questions about your family, that only you would know. The loyerettes mom was pissed about it because they asked a bunch of questions about her ex right after the divorce. My brother said it was creepy how much they know about you.

Tonight is going to suck. Vicodin and all. Ed cooked me dinner and hung out with me tonight, while Heffe enjoyed a guys night out with his friends from Egypt. Another friend is hanging out at my place tomorrow. So many people offer to help, it is kinda amazing. I even have some folks planning to drive all the way from Columbus to do some gardening for me next week. I am really touched.

I've not seen vid of Grand Illusion before. There is some discussion on MP on whether it or Phoenix was redpointed first, but as I remember, it is consensus that GI was the first harder-than-13-minus in the US. I think that quite a few people have pinkpointed it over the years; I know Rodden did way back when.
