hey im about to do my first DWS next week and today I came up with the thought 'will salt water destroy my shoes?' I have a pair of red chili climbing shoes , made of a soft leathery stuff, they have started to get a hole in the right foot by my big toe on the rand, but I dont want to replace them just yet! will the salt water cause damage? is there a way to stop the damage? can i just wash em in fresh water after? and tips and advice would be very welcome! I will be sure to share any climbing photos I snap on this epic holiday!!

Just wash 'em with fresh water when you get home, I haven't noticed any noticeable damage that can be noticed.

wear beaters unless you're expecting to DWS your super-mega-uber proj that requires shoes without holes.

You went DWSing and didn't take any falls? You missed like a quarter of the fun, dude!
