Gahhhh Colorado has poinoned me... a few weeks ago when we did one of our long runs we decided to give our steri pen one last try (we've never found it to be very reliable, but it is smaller than our filter so we thought... hey... lets try again) sure enough it was being problematic, so we did our best and crossed our fingers... well that steri pen is dead to me because now I have giardia Matt of course is fine... I on the other hand no longer have any internal organs needless to say running and climbing have been at a minimum

edge wrote: erisspirit wrote: Edge how's the house? moving in soonish? Sorry to hear about the giardia. I never trusted those steri pens. We are scheduled to close on Oct. 10, when I will be out of state. After that my wife will probably go up there a few times to clean and move boxes of kitchen and bathroom stuff until I return on the 20th and we will be 100% moved by the end of Oct. Can't wait. The seller just had $10k of structural repairs done to the roof and ceilings and it looks great now. While it was opened up they allowed me to go up there 2 nights after work and install foam insulation around the perimeter of the roof, but otherwise we can't move anything in or do other projects until we close. Skipped outta work early Tuesday and did the Third Flatiron with my friend and another guy who had never climbed before, then went into BoCan and jumped on an unknown sport route that turned out to be a two move .10d wonder. fracking sweet.

Well, I hear if you just accept it for what it is today then one day you'll wake up, look back, and think, "wow, I've come a long way." Hopefully that happens to you sooner than later. BTW - I'm unpacking today. First day living with The Lady. Wooooo!!!

So I'm much at the end of my first climbing trip (I'm in Germany and was just climbing in the Frankenjura with rsmillburn) and seriously why the fuck did I stop doing this? I don't understand what happened. At some point climbing became another option for an afternoon and a thing that I arbitrarily wanted to be "good" at because I thought it was a cool activity. I didn't do anything cool or adventurous for a couple years, just kinda climbing sport or single pitch trad. Man, a whole cool trip to somewhere new with the attitude of having fun and just seeing what happens everyday is super duper rad and this trip totally reminded me that I should be doing it as much as possible. Super psyched.
