So my friend was telling me I should get merino boxers for the winter season because he used some last year and they were p. baller. I'm slightly worried though because sometimes there is a slight, barely noticeable itch I get from my wool shirts. What if it's more then just slightly noticeable on my nether regions? That could be pretty rough, dude. It's why I've always shied away from wrapping my junk in merino in the past.
So has anyone else used merino and how bad/good was it? Will it make me less wafty?
£25 for a pair of knickers is a lot and I need to be convinced.

You wear a kilt the right way don't you? (disregarding the felt upper layer)
Didn't you find that out the hard way in the potash road campsite? huehueuhe
True story: first time I met this weirdo was when I was climbing on Wall St and he was swimming the Colorado River - upstream - with the hopes that it would be quicker back to the campsite. He was in his underwear, and didn't even think about the dozens of people watch him give up, get out of the river, and walk across the street - again, nothing but underwear - to introduce himself.
Best $50 ever spent... I brought two pair on a 13 day trek in the middle of Arkansas summer through the 'mountains.' We covered 165 miles while sweating our balls off. I would wash a pair during the day, and they were dry enough to change in to at night or the next morning. Fresh undies really makes a difference. They would breathe and wick moisture like no other. I am slowly replacing all my boxers with these.
Do NOT buy the standard underwear ones... my junk tended to hang out one side or another. Get the BOXER BRIEFS ONLY. My wife now sports the regular briefs I bought.
Also, while you are at it, get a whole merino base layer, shirt, and mid-weight for winter layering. The baselayer was my night time pajamas that helped keep my down sleeping bag clean, and they were already on in the cold mornings.
