Do you prefer to use a double bowline vs a figure 8 if so why? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Rethreaded bowlines seem cool, but I've never bothered with them. Happy to use double bowline or Fig 8. Basically, I use the bowline if the likelihood is I'll be falling on it, and the Fig 8 if I'm likely to be climbing multiple pitches without untying. It's very rare for me when both of those scenarios are true in one climb. Then it's just a judgement call. GO

It is easy for someone else to visually inspect it and make sure it is tied correctly. Disadvantage: it can be hard to untie if it has been fallen on.
