Hi Guys,
I am an Industrial designer, studying climbing and related problems.
I would love to know what problems do you face, in terms of gear, or physical limitations you face while climbing.
It would also help to know what you think is missing, something you feel the need of but isn't available or manufactured yet!

Something to use as an anchor instead of bolts, that doesn't damage the rock. Perhaps an adhesive, that dries in less than 5 minutes, that could hold a 5 sq in pad to the wall with a hanger on it. And a solvent that could subsequently remove the adhesive without harming the rock.

Actually, one of the biggest problems IS bolts.
There is no tool made for easily removing bolts once placed. Every such tool is homemade and most are nothing more than a prybar with a fork on it, and they damage the rock anytime the bolt is not almost falling out on its own.
Screw jacks have been tried but its hard to apply the force exactly outwards and not off center.
Second most needed is a LARGE, long range plug that would fit the huge mouths of bolters who think they have a right to drill their way up anything they chose. An alternative might be a hypodermic shot from a gun like a tranqualizer dart, but full of superglue. Or a shotgun fired net that wraps a blanket around their heads like a Alien Crab monster.
There are others. Climbing needs a LOT of new thought.

I have seen a post like this almost every year so it is likely a bot.
1) Solar powered, self-inflating, rugged, over-sized crash pad.
-Like the ones used by stunt men to jump off buildings.
Total weight must remain less than 20Kg
2) Micro-light self carried, propane hot air balloon.
-Saves a long walk back to the valley floor after a big wall.

"Gecko-tech" climbing shoes?
I remember reading an article about scientists trying to develop a sticky rubber based on the mechanics of a gecko's footpads. That would be nice.
Also- those silly putty nuts that some company announced for April Fool's. Get on it!

Number two is got prototypes in production, Mod them yourself.

That isn't exactly what I remember. Decades ago I remember seeing a Pop Mech article about a true "hopper" that didn't give sustained airtime but extended a leap hugely and used helium so the envelope was on the order of a couple yards. It was a cover
I think this sounds like a dogcrazy kind of fun, making 50 foot leaps across the hillsides and leaping into ravines. Windy days might be a gas.

then you are gonna put this on on the list.
I think this one is dual fuel, both solar and fart powered, just gotta make it fold up like origami or a cheap campchair. It puts me in mind of that old woodcut showing a hundred pigeons attached to a flying chair dragging some mandarin along through the sky.
