yes eye r butter.
Butt howe much?
Scale 1 to 10.
1, getting home after release from hospital, was awl I could do to shuffle from the car to the apartment, 50 feet in the walker.
10, a very long day for me would have been 45 min approach, 4-5 pitches of moderate climbing, hour return to the car.
Several month ago wife and I flew to vegas for a concert. We walked 1/2 mile up the strip for dinner, then walked most way back for said concert. then back to the hotel. After witch the r foot and knee hurt pretty good, but was mostly better the next day. Sew bout a 5.
Which is progress from a year ago, when I still needed a cain.
The sole of the r foot hurts day in day out. had that mri'd last fri. see the dr Monday about the results of the mri.
the tendons from the hammy that attach behind the knee kill me if I try to push the hammy muscle even lightly. Sew hopefully the plate removal surgery will resolve that. well figure out a date for that surg Monday too.

well slow progress is still progress. glad you're at least getting about.
So I've thought about this for a while, and yes I'm making real progress. While the knee and foot pain are real, and daily, I have progressed.
A year ago I climbed stairs under water, walked with a crutch, and got winded walking to the parking lot. I can climb stairs decently and walk mostly with out a limp.
In either case, hopefully the surgery brings relief. And I am more optimistic today on that, a coworker was sharing how much better he is after he got his plates removed.
Anyrate, thanks for the good wishes.

Beer Keep up the good work. Next year you'll be climbing again.
well not quite.
was making decent progress this spring early summer. started running, on the treadmill, but still was running. and deep squats. was excited about returning to some easy climbing by fall.
well, over did it. tendinitis of hamstring tendons and fasciitis of the foot kicked back up.
so shooting for gym climbing by spring.

Hey, at least you're talking about it as a reality now. Well done.

I'll be in El Chorro again for a week between x-mas and new year, just before a residency that I have in Lisbon, Portugal for a month. (see fundraiser here with cool tax-deductible gifts!)

Meeting the german (KITT). First time climbing for me since Arco in April. Should be fun.

Finally managed to get back on, re -think of password. Climbing gym here, but road trip back to BC to ski Fernie over Christmas via U.S route, and then back again in Summer for a few weeks. All I find for outdoors locally are novices, and the odd know it all that knows not enough to be safe, so I'm sticking to the indoor gym locally for now.

My climbing lately has been exclusively limited to one-off, week-long or two-week trips to Europe (Arco or El Chorro) once or twice per year, plus the occasional hook up in Acadia when friends swing by.

Are you back in the States? Like, permanently? I've lost track of things.

Obviously lost track of things. Yeah, I'm back in Bar Harbor helping my family out at the Inn. Not sure how long we'll be here, though.

I agree.

Also if he were still around on here this site would never be dead. He'd keep it alive as he was good at that.
