Well all Cooperhead’s talking about pasties in the MicroNuts thread took me way back 20 years when I was on a business trip to Detroit and crossed over into Windsor – WOW you want to talk pasties – but I digress into the dangerous realm of “Old Bull” type of stuff. Still, it excited me – the thought of pasting those copper and aluminum pasties. This drove me to take my guidebook and head to rock canyon exploring for a new practice area. After finding several potential areas to keep me busy for a while, I went to two local pro shops to verify the ethics of my intentions (which are A LOT more morally sound than those of 20 years ago) I Dug through my old tools, and found a punch and chisel that looks about right, went down to the local automotive shop and used there grinder to turn my cold chisel into a blunt one. I’m headed for nailing/heading practice tomorrow! Found some perfect places for it – they are easily clean aidable (to get some solid stuff under me) and yet I can paste/nail away – as they have remained unclimbed (well not worth bolting) for over 20 years in a very popular crag, and the local ethics are – all is fair on my chosen areas. So, I’m off to a crash course search/reading of nailing/pasting threads – and picking up the old hammer tomorrow – dang – pasties are just exciting stuff! Any last minute thoughts here are much appreciated Chad [ This Message was edited by: timpanogos on 2003-01-23 16:58 ]

i'm a dork from michigan, i thought you were talking about the food. i don't think that anywhere else has them except maybe some parts of canada. it's kind of like a jelly doughnut, but instead of jelly it's filled with meat and gravy. good if you want cardiac problems. sorry i have nothing to contribute.

>>Canada has some of the raunchest strip bars you could possible immagine Of course, I've only read about them, and have ZERO interest in actually going to one. Russ

Well yes and yes. Canada has some wild bars, but I dont remeber any pasties, or thongs for that matter, anyway, I have a little cliff out back I practice using pasties. I was shaocked to see how well they hold. Of course its different when you 1000 feet of the ground as oppossed to 6. I was taught to x them before you finish and the cleaner the rock the better they will stick.
