If I where to buy shoes, that would not be the question I ask first. 1) I would try both shoes on for fit and comfort. 2) Then I would try them on the store’s climbing wall to see how well their particular characteristics match my climbing style. 3) Then I would consider the benefits to lace-ups, Velcro or slippers. Personally, I hate bothering with tones of laces, but its way better then having to deal with slippers that soften and stretch WAY more then any climbing shoes should. I haven’t owned any Velcro shoes so I can’t comment on those. When I bought my 5-10 Moccasins I could not for the life of me, fit my foot into the smaller size, so with that said it stands to reason the size I did buy was extremely, painfully tight. They are so loose now that I feel unsafe climbing in them, I can’t trust me feet unless I’m on a ladder. GARBAGE. So, I got new shoes this time with laces so that even after they stretch I will have some control over how tight they fit my foot. I bought La Sportiva Miuras because they fit great, they proved to be bomber on thin ledges and they have a really unique lace pattern that I feel is much better then the standard. http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=365439&bmUID=1043939009828

go with the anasazi velcro's they have been around for years and are incredible shoes, but it really comes down to fit.
