I've been reading the auto biography of Paul Pritchard (a british climber of great renown don't you know!) called 'Deep Play' and in it he talks about a number of aid lines i've never heard of. Now, being thirsty for knowledge about this great bit of rock and knowing only about the routes in the Supertopos book, i am keen to learn more. Where can i find out about some of the more obscure but still great routes on the Captain. Pete do you have any gems of information for us, any ideas?

Funny that you chose to use the word "obscure". You can download a collection of topos from SuperTopo.com that is called "Obscurities". It's a collection of off the beaten track aid lines(most of which are on ElCap). "This free download includes hand-drawn topos of obscure Yosemite big walls. NOTE: these topos are of dubious accuracy." http://www.supertopo.com/topos/yosemite/obscurities.html

Go to supertopo.com they have a selection of topo's for the more obscure/recent aid lines on El cap. These topo's are not done like supertopo's they are generally hand drawn by the First ascentionist's. josh

For a middle ground between the obscurities page and super topo, you can just set Don Reid's Big Walls guide. Supertopos is sort of just 'Big Walls Select' at this point. If you want to read up on some REALLY obscure aid climbs, get the old roper guide.
