If your going out climbing for the day but something stops you what is that something?? or in otherwords I'm wondering what causes people stop climbing(not permanently). i.e broken bones, some bad infection, things of this nature or if you just climb on no matter whats wrong with you? Nothing I live in So Cal. I can climb year round. As a matter of fact, injurys don't stop me either. I did my ankle in this weekend trying to start a route, it swelled up and was pretty painfull. But I got back up and kept trying. After about 10 to 15 falls off the start I finally pulled the move and finished the route. So my answer is nothing. Well maybe a hangover. -Zac

My family, especially my daughter. Nothing else could stop me except when I am too sick or hurt to really climb.

Cold Weather, no climbing partner available, too busy with school, and (oh yes) the lack of rocks.

yeah im going to second that i hate not always having a car. bumming rides really sucks. the worst is when u get really excited about climbing. then u realize that your brother took the car and u can't go. so u call everyone, i mean everyone that u could think of and ask them if they want to go climbing, even to the gym. and then tell them u need a ride and they say, awww well i don't have a car either. and after u call about 20 or 30 people u finally give up and go downstairs feeling really depressed and workout on your hangboard for hours on end wishing that someone would return your call and say they can give you a ride.

there isn't much that can keep me from climbing, not even a hangover. If I had a bad enough injury to be in a cast I don't think I would climb.

I have climbed in the cold with injuries, the biggest thing that stops me from climbing is not having a partner, especially when its cold. [ This Message was edited by: sportster on 2003-02-10 20:35 ]
