Does anyone know how much someone like chris sharma or lisa rands makes a year just from climbing. A lot of people have been asking me how much pro climbers make but I have no idea.
Thanks
Tim

i didn't know they got paid to climb for say.. they are all sponsered and get all their stuff for free, plus they always win comps which often have cash prizes, plus they probably make money doing videos and pictures for ppl.

i find it hard 2 beieve there is an organization out there that simply pays them to climb whatever they want...

correct me if i am mistaken?

yeah I think your right xanx but I was wondering if anyone knew how much someone would have if you put all that stuff together. Like if its enough for them to live on.

I hear Sharma makes 6 digits. Considerably less than other athletes.

I have heard that Dave Graham makes around $28,000 a year total....alot of the income is from pictures in magazines....a full page shot will get you about $500......I personally don't think that the free product you get can be considered part of your income.....mainly because you are not allowed to sell any of it for money.....hell, it doesn't sound like alot of money, but I would take it if all I had to do was climb the hardest routes and problems in the world........sounds like fun.........

hey weasel,
only a few people would be able to answer this question, hence the need for greater exposure, hence the bump.

any questions?

in the video 'small amazing things' on climbx graham makes some comment about not having much money, or something, i can't remember for sure it's been awhile. but it led me to believe that it isn't very much, esp. since he's one of the best in the sport.

it was actually in a petzl rock trip video. graham is on some boulder problem ( i forget the name) and someone asks him if he is donating to the access fund and he sort of looks around and says something to the extent of "if i could get more money" or something like that. but yeah i don't think he makes a whole lot.

sharma making 6 digits  :?: :!:  :?: :!:  :?: :!:
i dunno... sounds a bit sketchy, especially if graham only makes $28,000 per year.
