I admit-I have chopped a number of bolts...sometimes to replace anchors and sometimes because they were bolts that were added on a later ascent that degraded the route. Why do so many people get bent up about people chopping bolts....it seems like far less people care when we destroy the rock by placing 1/2" rap bolts every three feet for people to bail off of sport routes...what gives?
