Peter, I know you posted a while ago but...I live in Houston, and would love to go climbing with you sometime. It may be hard to work out now, but hopefully that'll change when I get my licence. I have only climbed at Exposure Indoor Rock Gym, but am heading up the Texas Rock Gym on Monday with some friends. If you want to climb sometime, just post again. Matt

Yeah, I am from Houston. I really love to climb, probably not that great at it, but I am learning. I am planning on taking a trip to Texas Rock Gym sometime, so I'd like to know what it is like. Anyone know if Exposure on 1960 is still up? I can't find there website so I'm not sure. That is the closest to me, so I would also like to go down there sometime again.

Hey Exposure and Texas Rock Gym and both still open, for more information check the Texas Routes page. There's detailed information on the gyms there. I also live in Texas (actually about 5 minutes from Exposure) so I'm up to go with somebody sometime if you need a climbing partner. Matt

There's not much climbing in Texas. I'm going to college in OK City. A little bit more up here. Anyways, you might want to hook up with the Texas Mountain Raiders. They usually have some info posted on the bulliton board on the left side of the Texas State Rock Gym on I-10. I think Mondays and Wendsdays are pretty good times to climb especially if you bolder hard.

pustheextreme I must agree with you about Hueco Tanks. If you want superb bouldering and even great tr stuff then HT is the place to go, not to mention it is close to the border for those under 21. Just don't get cuaght on the other side. I am from Texas and have been to HT about 3 times, and still have not found everything on North Mountain. People live there just to climb. Everyone is nice and good campsites not to mentions hosts around that area. Happy Climbing

I feel so sorry for all of you Houstonites now that Exposure closed down... Texas has some of the best bouldering on Earth: Font, France Hueco Tanks, Texas Castle Hill, NZ Hampi, India Rocklands, SA Don't take my word for it... take Fred Nicole's...

Yes, I'm not sure what to do with myself now that exposure is gone. I'm not too fond of TRG, but it looks like that's what's left.

I still had one of those 10 punch cards for exposure. I bought it a while back and went on vacation, and they shut down. That really sucked. Besides some annoying people at TRG its a really clean and nice place to practice TR.

Yeah, that is true. The place was quite clean last time I was there. I think I might head up there this weekend or the next.

hey there.. i know most of these are pretty old, but i thought i'd post a message anyway. i'm a beginner and new to houston, but i'm up for anything (the gym, rocks, buildings...). i'm a grad student at rice, so my schedule can be pretty tight sometimes, but just let me know if you want a climbing buddy sometime and you don't mind that i'm a beginner...
