Hey im wondering if wiregate draws and extendable wiregate draws would be good for big wall? BD say they are, at least the ones i want!

Hello-
I use the omega wiregates, the really small and light ones all the time on walls. They rule. the weigh much less, and are very durable. I would not use them for everything, but the weight savings is well worth it. Later-

I like wire gates because they are light. I have found that the gates of my Omegas get sticky as they age though, so I don't like them. I also don't like wire gates on my daisy chains because the gates tend to open more when I'm on a flared wider crack. But aside from that wired gates are pretty sweet.

Yes, wiregates are fine ("recommended" in my opinion).
You are carrying lots of biners on a wall and at 36g/biner (as opposed to 50-62g/biner) you will save a decent amount of weight. Do the math and it's easy to see why they are a good choice.
Other than being slightly more expensive (but hey, you pay only once yet benefit thousands of times) there's really no reason to NOT chose wiregates.

Wiregates are nice... You dont get any whiplash (slam a metal gate biner, spine first, into your palm and listen to the light "click" that can be heard. Wiregates do not do this, therfore if you fall on a regular gated biner you run the slim chance of the gate opening if the spine hits the rock) and also wiregates, if they do get mispositioned the longway (rope exerting force on the wireitself) they will stretch and hold, unlike regular gates where they will snap... Check out the KN rating on them, they are just as good if not better than regular gates, and as everyone has said, they are lighter.

I use wire Gates on pretty much every route I do. They are awesome! HOWEVER I would not(and do not!!) recommend using wire gate Krabs to rack nuts. When I first started using them I racked everything on them, until (on 2 separte occasions) the gate on my "nut" biner mysteriously opened mid pitch and several nuts fell off! I had never had that problem with ovals and ,since I've gone back to ovals I haven't had the problem since. I still rack all cams on wire gates and use them on one side of runners and draws. Everything has it's place......
