What's the best size wide angle lens for a camcorder? I was thinking of getting a lens that is somewhere around a .45 to a .6. I want to be able to shoot some bouldering footage, but I want to be able to video climbers on routes as well, so I don't want a lens that gives a major fisheye effect.

I have a Sony TRV38 DV camcorder with a 30mm thread size.

Any suggestions?

Oh, man, I wish I could help you but I've got no idea how camera lenses convert to camcorders. I've got some experience with Professional studio cameras, and from what I understand they have zooms ranges about 40mm to 400mm.

Are the numbers you listed in Inches of focal length? If so, then I'll do some math and try to help you out.
