Hey,

I'm meeting a friend in Yosemite May15th but plan on being in the area around the 11th. Off and on I've heard talk that Bishop has some pretty hot stuff.

Any beta on this would be appreciated:

Are there typically climbers around the area that I could meet up with and possibly join (Trad or aid) or any C1 type aid routes that would be requimended for a beginner solo ascent.

Were exactly to go, and any camping info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Chad

www.rockfax.com has a lot of good info, though it centers mostly on bouldering. but i planned a trip and used mick's info for camping info.

Unlikely.... since I wrote it and the info is at http://www.FishProducts.com/PowerandRubber

If you go to http://www.rockfax.com there is a bunch of FREE downloads (PDF) about Bishop... where to stay, what to do, where to soak your hippy body etc.... They make up as nice little guidebooks after two minutes of folding and stapling.

As for doing some aid stuff.... you can crack off the stuff at Rock Creek, Iris Slab, perhaps Pine Creek and other mystery areas, weather dependant. Go to http://www.MaximusPress.com for guidebook info.
adios,
Russ

Sorry about that Russ, I copied it a long time ago and just assumed it came from mick.

Dang, that's right, Russ is from Bishop - ya got a store front there? Maybe I could stop by and pick up some rivet hangers and heads? Maybe even another set of russians?

any beta on how to find you while there?

Chad

Highly unlikely. I'm a sociopathic recluse and hermit.

Check the Whisky Creek Happy Hour.... It would be possible to catch a glimpse of me there, but I'll probably be in the Valley same time as you. better check El Cap meadow.
