The only reference I've ever read about them was here in the 2:1 Hauling Ratchet ost where Richard proved that it didn't work.

Richard, did you ever try that thing for clusterf*ck management? Is it worth the money??

Hi Pete,
The only time I used the Paw was to test it when using the 2:1 Ratchet.
It now sits in the bottom of my climbing gear box unused. I can't see a benefit of lugging another peice of gear "The Paw" up the wall.
Unless someone has a BWT which I can test :)

Give the thing to your Wall Doctor, mate. It looks like Tom and I will have a lot of stuff with us on our next wall. Using the Paw would let us hang the Bar-B-Q next to the Ghetto Blaster.

Well in my opinion, leave the thing at home. The only two uses I have found for the paw are as follows:

1) They are great for guiding when you are teaching the Top Rope 101 course. When I am doing the rigging class, I can setup all sorts of stuff from a single point. But I don't do this often.

2) We use them on the SAR team for rigging on technical rescues. For this purpose, they are just the shit! Technical resuces require all forms of tricks and creativity you probably won't ever use in climbing. Pre-tensioned back ties, multiple power points off a single power point etc. etc. This list goes on and on.
