what mean the "size numbers" of all this kind of tools. Is it their real width? Is it to relate to the width of the crack they should fit in? Do the numbers are the same in the different brands?

Sorry to ask, but I'm a sport climber!

Also, check out Clyde Soles' cam size spreadsheets. They are similar but a little more detailed.

Edit to add: He uses "usable minimum and maximum," which is a calculation to better reflect the usable size of the Cam. I think that's cool.

I have a sortable database of cam info at http://www.sage-tech.net/~harrisnw/newcams.html

Its fairly simple right now, but you can compare different brands of cams by size and weight. I'm working on some cool new features.. any suggestions are welcome.. :)
