We are thinking about heading to the valley memorial day weekend to attempt a route on Washington Column. We are not sure which one yet; we are keeping our options open. We'd like to try to get up the whole thing in a day and avoid hauling. Does anyone have any tips about what to look for the day before as far as crowds go? I just want to be able to make a good decision about which routes have to many people on them for a one day ascent.

I was on Astroman around that time last year, and it was a serious clusterfunk on the S. Face and Prow routes. If you can do it on a weekday, that would really help...sometimes, the last day of the weekend (sunday or monday) can be better as well.
