I'm not sure this is the right forum for this but here goes anyway. Does anyone know where I can get colored chalk? I've looked at every on-line dealer I can find and I havent seen it yet. At blue mound state park in MN. and devils lake WI. the have the most beutiful pinkish colored quartzite I've ever seen and I hate to mark it up with white chalk. Any ideas?

I don't know where, but I'm pretty sure this was discussed a while ago. (goes to search) Yuppers, here it is. Gotta learn to use the Search feature, dude. It works wonders.

Yes I should use search more but in this case that forum didnt really answer my question, no one it seems has found anyone that sells it, I dont really care if it doesnt work as well as white because anychalk is propably better than none. maybe it doesnt exist anymore but I just thought I'd toss it out there.

hey, well i had never seen that or anything, the post or the chalk, and like 2 weeks ago I was planning on doing it. I have an idea that would most likely work but just have to find the thing that i need. I am going to see if i can try to do it b4 xmas holidays are over so i have time. if i have luck with it, i will let you all know! planning on taking it to the gym to try it out. Brittany

I don't know if this would work well, in fact I'm sure it would stain your hands for a while, but you could take some loose chalk, add water, food coloring, mix well, and then let dry. That should color it. Now, I'm pretty dang sure your hands would be colored as well.

The liquid chalk that I tried still turned white on your hands, now this sidewalk chalk idea im kinda curious about, I might get a little and play around with it.

As far as I can tell, coloured chalk has been and gone. I don't think pink was avaible. Pretty much just camo type colours. I don't think you have much to worry about. What ever little chalk you leave on the rock will be gone by the next rain anyway.

Nice lateral thinking, lmmw but the whole point of the coloured chalk was for the sake of asthetics. If your powdered paint mix got wet from sweat or rain, it would stay on the rock even longer than just chalk.Iron pigment may well stain the rock or react with it.
