Lanex: is the second largest rope maker in europe. There ropes are sold by major companies such as Kong. They are made in a ISO 9000 factory to UIAA and CE standards. They are made by former Edelwiess engineers and I think on Edelwiess machinery.

All in all they are a quality rope that can be had for $170 for a pair of 60m dry.

I have a set and love 'em. But, hey, there ropes the only time i use em is when I fall (rarely) and when I rap both of which task they seem to work for. Once the rope end tags fall off I usually don't even remember what brand they are till I think really hard about it.

also, comparing elongation, fall rating and impact force Lanex compares quite well to the other name brands

Lanex Badile 8.5 doubles are:

5.5Kn Impact force, 8 falls, 6% stretch

Edelwiess Stratos 9mm double:

5.6Kn, 8 falls, 8.4% stretch

Sterling 8.8mm:

6.5kN, 11, 6.5%

Bluewater Excellence 8.6mm:

6.3kn, 9, 7.6%

hope that helps a bit
