So what are everyone's favorite books? Classics or otherwise, kids books, they all count. I love: Crime and Punishment (awsome) Lady Chaterly's Lover (super hot sex) Gone with the Wind (not the cheezy romance that people who haven't read it think) Anything by Orson Scott Card (damn good) Wuthering Heights (just really good) Brave New World (better than 1984) The Eyes of the Dragon (Stephen King's best book for sure) So many others I can' t think of right now.... what does everyone else like?

In reply to: english-french french-english dictionary. In 6 months I used it more than in 12 years! I bet you get some pretty weird translations occasionally! I *love* Neal Stephenson - Cryptonomicon was the best of his books. Literally had me laughing out loud, which doesn't happen too often to comic geniuses like me  Oh never mind -

In reply to: The Turner Diaries   Wow,,that guy is scary. The first book I ever read was "Lost in the Barrens" by Farley Mowat. The "White Spider" was a good one. Anything by Joe Simpson. I think I have read like 1000 books, I could never pick a favorite.

In reply to: Anything by Orson Scott Card (damn good) Heck ya. I read the homecomming series and Enders game. I think there were 5 books in the homecomming series and they were all awsome and of course enders game just kicks ass. Some other of my favorite books are... A Wrinkle in Time The Street Lawyer The Firm (you can't dis Grisham until you've read a couple of his books) Salems Lot -Stephen King I'll think of some more later.

In reply to: Anything by Orson Scott Card (damn good) I was in the bookstore today and he has a new book out. I was just whipping out the door, so I didn't catch the name. Great Books! Can't wait to read the new one. If you like Card, try Tad Williams - The Otherland series and China Mieville - Perdido Street Station - very different, but great!

Orson has a new one? Cool, I'll have to get that. I haven't even read the more recent ones like Shadow of the hedgemon. The crazy thing is that I usually hate Sci-Fi, but his are just so well written and so poignant. I have to say I also love the trash, english author Jilly Cooper writes good trash. Unfortunately I don't care for Hemingway that much (no one can deny his importance as far as american lit goes, I just find him a little dull from a strictly good read perspective) I prefer Steinbeck. The Bible? ARe you serious or was that a joke? And if you were serious, is it as a piece of literature that you appreciate it or because reading it inspires you because you are really religious? (I am totaly not being facetious, I honestly am curious! Don't be all cranky about that, I would really like to know why it's your favorite.)
