Anybody have a clue what is up with these people? I ordered stuff like two weeks ago and haven't heard anything from them or seen my $4!+ I tried to call them all day today, busy signals and endless ringing. Anyone know what is up?

I ordered from them a while back and I couldn't contact them or anything either, but my stuff eventually did come in about a month, but I was pleased with what came, just wish they could get their S*** together and get it out sooner.

Weird - they seemed to have it together last month, I had no problems with them at all. I ordered a half dozen quickdraws, some runners and a few other miscelaneous items and got everything within a week, even got an email within 48 hours telling me that one of the items I ordered was out of stock and that they had refunded that portion of my order.

I recieved an email within 48 hours telling me the same thing, that one item was out of stock and that they would be shipping my order as soon as that item came in. I even called them to confirm and I was told shipping in the next two days, but that was two weeks ago and nothing! Tried to email them and call in the last couple of days and have gotten no response. I'm a bit irked to say the least!

We as a site obvioulsy have nothing to do with them as a retailer, but we have recieved a few emails to see if there is anyone we can contact to find out more about this.

I sent out an email to my contact with thier company that I do the advertising with and gave him a link to this thread. Hopefully we can find out more info soon. I will try to keep my info posted when I get new news

If you are ordering mad rock shoes they are backordered. I tried several discounters before ending up paying more for less at Shoreline where I paid $12 more (with shipping) and didn't get the free biner, draw, chalkbag, ect that acme gives.

I don't know why they aren't contacting you but they didn't contact me either at first. I sent an email and said "I gather my shoes are backordered". I got a reply that afternoon confirming they were and that I should have received a previous email. Anyway, I didn't want to wait a few weeks and ruin my other shoes so I ordered from shoreline. Overall ACME has been A-OK for me but I've only made 3 orders (counting the canceled shoes). Consider the fact they are backordered because they give you the best value for your money with the free stuff and $4 shipping you can save about $15 on a pair of shoes. Your choice.

Ordered a rope and some gear about three weeks ago. It all came in less than a week across country. Sounds like the Mad rocks are really catching on. I bet they are having a hard time keeping them in stock with their deals!

yeha I ordered some Mad Rocks on 5/6 and had them on 5/15, but they were too small and I sent them back monday to exchange for a bigger size...

I emailed them last thursday, got no reply and have been calling every day a few times and get nothing but the phone ringing off the hook and busy signals (which I expect are other folks calling them and letting the phone ring.)

right now their customer service seems pretty crappy to me, it's just really a pain in the ass. some business sense perhaps? I have a theory that the guys there are all rabid climbers and vertigo Industries is how they finance it.. the phone's not getting answered because they're all off at the mountain on a climbing trip.

to the RC.com admins, thanks for taking the time to try and find out what's up, we know there's nothing you can do about advertisers that don't effect their business well...
It's too bad, their prices are great but I dunno if I'd mail order from them again.

I ordered mad rocks from them. They didn't have my size, but I figured that was par for the course. I got them 2.5 months after I ordered them. I'd emailed several times, and always got a courteous response. Nothing free though...and they sent half a size up (which was good as it turns out).

Just took forever.

i remember what happened now. i bought a pair of shoes and they didn't have the size. after about a week i got in touch w/them to ask what the f was up, had they been shipped or what (since i got no shipping notification but my account had been charged for the shoes AND the shipping already)... they let me know they were still waiting on the shoes to come in. there were two very bad things happening there 1)they didn't call to let me know the shoes i ordered were not in, and not expected for a few weeks and 2) they charged my f'in card before the shoes were even in their store, let alone shipped out...

gearexpress, i like a lot.

thanks russ for sending that email, that was above and beyond... they should be appreciative that you alerted them to complaints...

Just wanted to keep everyone in the loop. Actually talked with Acme today 5/22 and 2:30 EST and their phone systems have been down. My order was supposedly shipped, and they are going to call back with a tracking number. I'll let you know when I see the gear ;-) Thanks to RUSS for following up, even when it wasn't his responsibility to do so. It's why this site is so great! Russ, are you interested in doing customer service workshops?

Glad you got ahold of them. I too got an email from my Advertising Co-Owner of the Company and here is what he said:
In reply to:
russ, thanks for the heads up I am out of the country
but the company, as usual is in the hands of Bill the
other owner. We hired a new general manager about one
month ago. Heather(new general manager) is excited to
clean things up and I have told her that customer
service is a first priority, then make money. We are
also moving the entire operation to a larger location
and hiring an additional shipping clerk to help out.
In the last year thanks to many RC.com folks we have
grown much larger than we had expected. Growth is
hard but very nice and necessary for our business. In
the coming year we are expanding our selection to
include even more great deals that I can find.

That was from Scott. I will also email Bill and I have his email now too. hopefully we will be able to see increased deals with these guys, since thanx to our members, they are growign rapidly.

What do you mean by customer service workshops? This jus tseems like common courtesy to me 8) PM me with other details you were thinking of.

They were pretty good for me. I got a set of stoppers (which they ran out of) but they sent a larger set (13 instead of eight) . All my other stuff (quickdraws for $7, cam for 30) came on time as well.

I understand your plight though, those of you who had problems.
