Hey all, I'll be in Anniston, Alabama the week of June 8-14, helping out on a Habitat for Humanity project. Anyone know of a gym in that town, or some walking-distance climbs/bouldering projects for the evenings? I'd love to tag along with anyone in that area! :D Thanks! Taz

There may be a couple of random boulders up in the hills on the north side of anniston, although I have never heard of any. There is no gym there. The closest rock would proabably be at palisades park in oneonta just north of bham. Sorry.

Stew's right. There is also Horse Pens 40 (awesome bouldering) that is actually on the way to Palisades from Anniston. Either way, you're looking at an hour or more driving. Definitely worth it, IMO (assuming you can find any transportation). Another reason to lament America's lack of regular, reliable trains.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. Unfortunately, no transportation while I'm down there. By the way, I 100% agree about America's lack of decent transport (especially trains)! Even here in St. Louis the Amtrak "station" may be accurately described as a double-wide trailer (I kid you not!). Just one more reason to move back to Europe. At any rate, if somebody is in that area and likes an evening climb, I'd really love the opportunity to tag along and meet some good people. Thanks again for the insight! Taz
