what settings do you guys use when scanning photos? Mine always seem to come out grainy unless I turn up the DPI, and then you have a HUGE file size. any ideas?

I usually try to scan as high as possible to get a good base scan (as you suggested), then take it into an editing program to resize it/chop it to fit the sizing needs I want. then when I save it to a jpeg I play with the compression so it fits the file size I need. Guess I just have to play around with it more....
