Hey. What do you guys use? I'm just getting into aiding and have found shoes an issue. Comfortable boots are too expensive to trash and cheap shoes are uncomfortable.

I use a pair of the LaSportiva Mega Dru's. I like them a lot and get many positives. Lite comfortable and god support. If investing in good shoes get toe caps put on them because the toes will wear out in a couple climbs.

Well i did a search and found nothing.
Maybe steel cap boots, but they wouldn't help with free pitches.
Does anyone use Scarpa Marathons? They look like they might do the trick.

actually some friends and I have found that Garmont Sticky Weekends or Sticky Twists work great!
They are stiff enough to give you support in the aiders, and the soles are MADE for edging and the rubber grabs like a rock shoe.
I hate hiking in them because the toe box is a little small for me, but if I am going to need to scramble around a lot, I do!
