Right now the ice is bomber in Ouray, Colorado. There are lots of places in Colorado to ice climb right now. atg has more information on the local spots up here. I'm sure he'll respond soon. Mick

I just returned from Ouray, Colorado, which is in southwestern Colorado. The ice was excellent, and I went with San Juan Mountain Guides. All gear was included in the cost, even boots! It was a good deal for me because I just wanted to give it a try without having to purchase all the equipment. They have a website with their contact information. I would not recommend going this weekend, because the Ouray Ice Festival is January 18-20, and the place will be WAY overcrowded. There is a neat event, called "Chicks with Picks", (for women only...all experience levels) scheduled for February 5-9 in Ouray. They also have a website. I have also heard the ice is great in Cody, Wyoming. Hope that helps!!
